Hydrotherapy & Movement for Better Living
Our specialized physiotherapy services are designed to help you maximise movement. We focus on low-impact, high-efficacy hydrotherapy that reduces pain and restores the joy of movement in a supportive, professional environment.
About Movement Makers
Hydrotherapy at Movement Makers is designed for optimal recovery. By utilizing warm water, we create an environment where exercise is accessible and effective
Individualised Care
Limited to just 5 participants per class to ensure personalized attention and safety in the water.
Small Group Hydrotherapy
Our hydrotherapy classes are intentionally designed as small group sessions, with a maximum of five participants per class. This allows the physiotherapist to provide close supervision, individual guidance, and ensure that each participant performs exercises safely and effectively.
Each class requires a minimum of three participants to commence. This helps create a supportive group environment where participants can benefit from shared motivation and encouragement while exercising in the pool.

Physiotherapy assessment and exercise prescription
Before joining a hydrotherapy class, all clients complete an individual physiotherapy assessment. This ensures the program is safe, appropriate, and tailored to each person’s specific needs.
During this assessment, your physiotherapist will take the time to understand your medical history, current symptoms, and physical abilities. We will also discuss your personal goals, such as improving strength, reducing pain, increasing mobility, or building confidence with movement in the water.
Following the assessment, an individualised hydrotherapy plan will be developed and you will be placed into a small group class suited to your abilities.
Our goal is to ensure every participant feels safe, supported, and confident before entering the pool.

Transition to land
Hydrotherapy is an excellent way to begin improving strength, mobility, and confidence with movement. The supportive properties of water reduce the load on joints and muscles, allowing many people to move more comfortably than they can on land. This creates an ideal environment to start building strength, balance, and control.
A key focus of our program is helping clients translate the benefits gained in the pool into everyday activities on land. Many of the exercises performed in the water are designed to replicate functional movements used in daily life. As strength and confidence improve, these movements can gradually be progressed into land-based exercises to support long-term independence and mobility.
Individual classes
In addition to our small group classes, individual hydrotherapy sessions are also available for clients who prefer one-on-one physiotherapy care in the pool.
These sessions provide dedicated physiotherapist support and are ideal for clients who require a higher level of supervision, have more complex medical conditions, or would benefit from a fully personalised exercise program. Individual sessions also allow the physiotherapist to focus closely on specific rehabilitation goals and progress exercises at a pace that suits the client.
One-on-one hydrotherapy may be particularly beneficial for people who:
Are new to hydrotherapy and would like to build confidence in the water
Have more complex injuries or medical conditions
Require closer supervision during exercise
Prefer a personalised treatment approach
Are preparing to transition into a group class in the future
